I Failed my PMP, Now What?

A PMP exam is no different than any other exam so there are chances that you can clear the exam in your first attempt or you might not clear the exam.

Failure is a part of the process and you don’t need to get discouraged just because you weren’t able to clear the exam in the first attempt as the exam is a very difficult one.

The fact that you failed should also motivate you to figure out what were the faults in your own study process that led to this failure and when you discover them you can work upon them, making sure that they aren’t repeated.

Many people who give the exam are not able to clear the exam in the first exam due to multiple different reasons and they share their reasons for not being able to clear the exams which you might relate to and can even learn from.

Here are some possible causes that might be the reason for you not being able to clear the exam:

 You Failed To Prepare Well.

The first and foremost thing that you can do is carefully think about the preparation process leading to the exam. With most people who are unable to clear the exam, the problem lies within their preparation.

There are multiple ways that you might have failed to prepare properly for the exam like:

Failure to set a proper schedule

One of the most common reasons is that exam aspirants forget to set a proper schedule for the studying portion of the exams which results in their studying process being highly disorganized resulting in less focus and varying importance to different topics in the syllabus.

 Failure to focus

Many of the people who fail the exam also fail to focus on the studies during the preparation time. To prepare for such a difficult exam you need to have a one-track mind and when studying be completely focused on the study without any distractions.

 Lack of good study material

The study material and resources play a very important role in the preparation of any exam and if you fail to secure good material and the necessary resources to prepare for the exam no amount of preparation can help you to clear the exam as you won’t have the complete and updated knowledge.

 You Fell to Exam Pressure

If you think that your preparation was up to the mark, another reason for the failure could be the pressure that most students feel during an exam even though they are completely prepared for the exam.

Exam pressure is a very real problem and arises due to the person, not being completely confident about their preparation.

To overcome this you can take mock tests and try to boost up your confidence so that you know that you have prepared enough for the exam.

Conclusion:

Failure is not permanent and if you fail to clear the exam, you get 3 attempts in one year to clear the exam and if you overcome your issues you can definitely clear the exam in the following attempt.
